Toyo Straw Safari Fedora Hat - Black Band

This hat fits and looks great! It will be great for casual and somewhat more dressier occasions when the weather gets warmer!!

I love the Hat. It fits well and looks good.My only problem, and I should have known this, is that it's Toyo Straw and therefore is a little more delicate than a regular panama. If you "dent" it...it stays dented !!! That being said, I will save this for my "good" Hat and order another for casual rougher wear.

The hat is beautiful and fits. That being said it could fit better. I took the advice of others and ordered one size smaller than I wear. It does fit but I wish it would fit better. Seems tightish and I sound have ordered my regular size.

Bought this about a month ago. The fit is perfect, and the quality of construction seems very good. I've purchased 5-6 hats from Village Hat Shop over the past few years - always good products and service.

Everything went as well as possible. The online ordering and sizing information was perfect, and the packaging was great. The USPS was a bit slow, and i had a tough time waiting for my new hat, but it was worth it. Good bargain!

I wear it to play golf and it fits great.

I have a head size 7.5 Ordered Large and it's perfect. If your head is larger than 7.5 order XL. The hat is stiff enough to steam shape with a pot of boiling water on the stove. Shaped it the way I wanted and looks great. 5 Stars.

Well made hat, but was disappointed that the brim, which is supposed to be a turned-down brim, was actually flat. Had to take it to a local western wear store and have it steamed to get it to the proper shape. It cost as much to have that done as the hat cost in the first place.

Hat was VERY brittle and not what I expected as to quality. Not an expensive hat but not worth the price for the quality...

That hat that I received is a little better quality than I expected and as such I should get more than one season out of it as a result. It fits perfectly and looks great on. The only take away is that it's a little stiffer than I expected but I'm sure after wearing for awhile it will loosen up some. Either way,I'm very happy with my purchase overall.

I have ordered two Jaxon hats. They both were very well built and the sizing was dead on. I will buy Jaxon again.

I am always seen outside my house 95% of the time wearing a cap or hat. This is my second purchase of a Jaxon Hat since the hat lasted such a long time. I am a very satisfied customer of their hats and consider this hat style to be both durable but great looking.

Excellent quality product and fast delivery!

This White Jaxon Straw hat looks great, but the fitting is not of a typical hat. The problem for me is the depth from the crown to the brim inside is not tall enough. Also the elastic webbed headband does not conform to fit properly with the elastic performing as a type of netting to embrace the forehead to hold to the head. It is nothing like any other hat I own and I have a Scala with a web type headband which fits much more comfortably.

This hat depth ay be reduced by the Crown, it just sits on my head instead of fitting my head. The advertisement or another review mentioned the size could be smaller than others of the same size, so I ordered the large, which is not as large as my Scala one size fits most, nor is it as large as my Champ, another Scala, or my Stetson.

Wrapping up, overall the design I think could be improved with the maker adding about another inch in the depth from Crown to Brim, this would give way for the lining of the elastic headband to be used to its fullest, instead of the opening 1/4 inch of the 2 inches or so. By adding this extra would not take away from the sharp look of the hat and I think it would be even a best buy. As is, it does not meet my needs or expectations and I cannot wear it.

For an added bonus, the packaging of the hat was good, but it too could improve and provide a lid for the box that it could be used as a hat storage box.

The hat came quickly and was exactly what we needed. It was easy to figure out the size using the site tips. One tip: At first we thought the hat was too big but removing the cardboard inside solved that, so don't panic! We would definitely order again!

Love this straw panama style hat! Fits well, protects me from sun, and is accurately priced. Nice looking summer hat I wear from casual to formal!

Like this hat, clean look, fits great, wider brim than most of my hats but great for a change. the inside of the hat has an elastic band that I believe if you order the wrong size will pop the hat off of your head. but if you get the correct size. it helps hold it on your head even when the wind is blowing hard. great hat.

This Jaxon Hats Toyo Straw Safari Fedora Hat is perfect in every way. Next time I may order one size smaller, but this works well for now. Compare this ehat against "Panama" hats, though they are "higher quality" straw, they're no better for looks, wear, or function than this Jaxon.

A great summer hat! Being a red-headed person, a summer hat is a necessity and finding a nice one that suits me is a challenge. Based on the Jaxon Ford Fedora that I wear in the Fall and Winter, I figured that this Toyo Straw would fill the bill and it certainly did. So good that I turned right around and bought another as a gift for a friend's birthday...he's another red-head and loves the hat. The hat has a very nice shape and fits nicely. My husband was very pleased with his gift.

I was a little hesitant to buy this hat because several customer reviews had cautions about the size. But I followed the sizing instructions on the website and when it arrived, it fit perfectly. I like the look and the feel, it's very lightweight and cool, and I'd do it again for sure.

The hat is a nice hat is what i wanted; however the size was not what I expected. I did call and was able to speak to a representative who was very nice and professional. Her suggestion as to let her send what I guess they call hat sizer and I agreed. Received the hat sizer and applied to the hat and agreed to keep it instead of returning. So for now I'm happy with the hat and in the future will continue to shop at Village hat shop.

Very nice hat. I read reviews about sizing and they were correct. It runs small. I wear a 7 1/4 and the medium fits perfectly. It's looks very classy even on me.

Nice Hat. Looks good. Got many complements. When I got it I was scared it would be to small. However, the inner band expands for a snug fit. The weave is a bit large, but to be expected for the price. Overall, pleased.

My new straw hat was purchased for those really HOT, sunny days on the golf course. These days you need protection for your face and the back of your neck. This hat will provide that. The only issue may be it's super light weight. It can blow off your head in the slightest wind. But I do love it.

I have ordered a few hats from Village Hat Shop and I've purchased a few at some local places. This is by far my favorite. I've received many compliments, you will too. I have one similar looking hat that was very flimsy and soft. I was afraid about this one, but this hat is stiff enough to keep it's shape. My hat size is 7 1/8 and the medium fit my head perfectly. The elastic head band makes for a very comfortable wear.

I really like the way this hat looks and fits. I ordered it by phone and the person tasking my order advised me that these hats run a little large, so I ordered a medium when I normally wear a large. The medium is a perfect fit.

Just what I was looking for. I wore it everyday while on vacation in Florida and the Bahamas, it looks a little out of place right now here in Michigan though!

I've probably bought a dozen of these hats over the years. They are great hats. They look good, fit well and stay crisp and sharp. Tip: I have learned that if you get the hat one size up and then insert a ""hat sizer"" so it will fit, the hat sizer absorbs persperation so the hat does not get sweat stained. I've done this with two Toyo Safaris, one with a tan band and one with a black band, and after months of wearing they still show no signs of sweat stains. A great hat at a great price.

The hat is cheap. I bought it to back up my Panama Jack. It doesn't fit right and I fear any breeze will take it the for a ride. Hopefully, it'll become a nice bird's nest. At least then something(s) will enjoy it.

Someone stole my Stetson so i bought this to finish the season. It doesn't hodl shape and is generally ewak in construction. It's cheap because it's a cheap hat and it won't make it through the fall, let alone next season.

shipped me the wrong size, called them , shipped it back in the box i received, paid for that too. when they received the hat, they claimed it was crushed and i'd have to file a claim with UPS. but i didnt have an account with ups so i cant. so i have no hat and paid double shipping. have two good hats from VHS but WILL NOT BE DOING ANY FUTURE BUSINESS WITH THEM UNLESS I GET A REFUND.

This is truly a cool hat, especially for the price.The size (Medium) was a bit large, but I learned a trick using ""hatter's tape"" (duct tape) from one of your competitors (Hat Guys in Oakland), and it solved that problem.
