I’ve owned about three of these hats over the years and have always liked them. I live in Hawaii, and the chin strap is especially useful on windy days.

However, the last one I ordered had to be returned because it was too small. I am a true 7 1/8, and I was advised to order a Small because the hat supposedly runs large. In my case, the Small was too tight, so I’m exchanging it for a Medium and plan to use spacers for a better fit.

Since I’m very familiar with this hat, I also noticed that the quality did not seem to be up to the standard of the ones I purchased in the past. Perhaps that’s because they are now finished in Mexico, as the inside label states “Made in Mexico.” This hat also arrived without the toggle for the chin strap, and the leather strap itself was noticeably thinner than before.

One other note: since it costs about $30 to return, I will call in my new order to request a price adjustment and will follow up on this review.

Overall, it’s still a hat design I like, but the quality appears to have changed over the years.

This a great hat for wearing while walking on sunny days. The air vents keep my head cool. I should have ordered a medium instead of large. Fortunately hat sizers fixed thr problem.

This was exactly what I was wanting. I’ve purchased several look-alike’s, but none of them had the quality of this hat! I love it.
