Ivy Cap

I have purchased several hats/caps from Village Hats in the past and this order, like my others, did not disappoint. Quality cap with a perfect fit.

I ordered the wrong size

Unfortunately I ordered hats that were too large.
This is why I had to return them.
The quality is excellent,

Sizing runs large. Very scratchy. Looks beautiful though.

I became obsessed with this blue plaid design and ordered one from a Scottish store online with the matching scarf. They had a one size fits all option and I thought great! It will stretch to fit. I was very wrong. It was way too small. I wear a 7 1/4" or 58/ cm cap, and this one would only fit a child or maybe a small woman. So I returned it, but kept the scarf and found the same cap from The Village Hat Shop.

Actually, I ordered two, an extra large and a large, thinking one would fit based on their size recommendations. I was wrong. The caps run large! So I had my seamstress take the cap in like a 1/4" and now it fits okay. I own several flat caps, and this style is a bit shallow, if that makes sense. It does not fit quite low enough on my head and I feel like it might pop off and I'm continuously pulling it down on my head to get a snugger fit.

But it's a gorgeous cap and I dig the look. It is a vibrant blue plaid just like it looks in the pictures. And it looks really good with the matching scarf too. As my wife likes to say, "what price beauty"?. I guess that means you are willing to put up with a little discomfort to look good.

The cap itself is scratchy wool, but well done and has a nice, silking textured black lining and comfortable headband. Overall, I am very pleased with this cap.
