This pith helmet style is reminiscent of a classic fireman's helmet. The helmet was named after M/Gen. Sir Garnet Wolseley, who developed the original pattern. We have seen many variations on the name...Wolsey, Wolesley, etc., but the correct spelling is Wolseley. Through the years there have been many minor variations to this style.

 

Please Note: This pith helmet can be immersed in water, whereby the wearer stays cool during use on hot summer days. Please submerge the outside of the helmet carefully, without allowing water to spill into the interior of the helmet.

Hope you have a large head

After 6 total attempts at receiving this item. 2 times the incorrect type was sent. 1 time was my fault I ordered a l/xl and it was to big. I reordered a S/M. 3 tries later, I continued to get L/XL and this was using measurements right off of their website. VHS decided I am unsatisfiable and will be concluding business and giving me a refund. Don’t order a S/M cause apparently they don’t have them. Their customer support team did do a good job at communication. Just don’t waste your time ordering a small medium.

The helmet is fine, but I'd ordered the other style

The pith helmet is not the style I had ordered. It is very well made but is the safari version, not the military version. I do like it and am keeping it.

Awesome pith helmet.

Pith helmet is exactly what was advertised and shipping was very fast. After only a couple days of wearing it I can see I will be getting much use out of it. This pith helmet is very lightweight and strong. The brim really covers my head and neck very well. A great addition to my historical impressions.
