Love the style but what you can't see in the photo is that the cord is made of a couple of pieces glued together. I wore it just a few times, and one windy day when I was sliding the bead to keep the hat on, the cord came apart in my hand. Village Hat Shop was great about taking it back and sending me a new one. Unfortunately, the cord on the replacement hat was made the same way. I returned the hat.

I ordered this hat due to its packability. The wide-brim offers extra sun protection, and the draw string keeps it on my head on a windy day. I definitely recommend this hat to someone with an average or larger head size. Mine is 6 3/4, so I had to add lining to the hat band. As stated, "fits most".

I've worn this exact hat for about ten years and finally the first two are wearing out. They were hard to find the last few years. The new one is going to Europe with me in a few weeks where people will stop me on the street to compliment the hat. It's comfortable, too, and eco-correcto. The near-solid crochet keeps the sun out of the eyes and off the face.
