Once carefully cleaned and weighed, the fur is put through more than 200 rigorous operations, many by hand. The fur is then sanded and treated several times with special hatters grease. Using heat, pressure and extreme care, the hat is formed, shaped and trimmed.

Impressive

When I wore the hat and my friends shaw they understood why I paid $300 for it. Nothing but compliments and the same people wanting to wear it. Either you got style or you don’t. I got it and they don’t.

Love the Homburg!

It is a Stetson - that, alone, is one of the compelling reasons to purchase it. It is well-made, looks good, etc. And, as opposed to some less expensive brands, it comes in 'real' sizes - i.e. 7 1/2, 7 3/8, etc. Not simply S, M, L. Yes, your pay for the quality but it is well worth it. The only reason I gave. '4' rather than a '5' is the fit - ON ME -is slightly off - for my head. I bought a 7 3/8 based on my measured head circumference. Turns out, my head is slightly 'long and narrow therefore less rounded than some. So I am having to steam the hat to adjust the shape, to fit me. Not a big deal, but it influences my rating just a bit. The vendor- Village Hat Shop - is great - quick shipping, good communication. I just wish they had an outlet on the East Coast.
