This Indian style pith helmet, a.k.a. the Bombay Bowler, is the most popular pith helmet style in North America. These hats are made from the cork, or pith, of trees from northern Vietnam using techniques developed 100 years ago by the French during their occupation. The helmet is functional in both sunny and rainy weather.
Please Note: Pith helmets can be immersed in water, whereby the wearer stays cool during use on hot summer days. Please submerge the outside of the helmet carefully, without allowing water to spill into the interior of the helmet.

Size(s): S/M fits sizes 6 7/8 (S) to 7 1/4 (L); L/XL* fits sizes 7 1/4 (L) to 7 3/4 (XXL); adjusts via a hook and loop ending to the interior sweatband.
*Size L/XL was previously sold as the "Big Head" version of this style prior to consolidation.
The hat is well made, light weight, and fits comfortably. Works best on hot days.

Excellent hat
The hat is just what it says, A well made pity helmet that will fit a head larger than 7.5. The suspension system and vent holes keep your head cool and the pith provides protection from golf balls. The chin strap is useful for very high winds Bostick most of the time unnecessary. Very authentic “jungle Jim†look.

Good hat for Phoenix heat.
Good hat so far, should work even in the Arizona heat. Wish it had a chin strap (I'll probably rig something up)... Ventilation system is good and the materials look top notch so far. Delivery was faster than expected. Big Hat version fits my 7 5/8 cranium quite well. Recommended.
