Although superseded by the Panama hat in this century, the Skimmer was for many decades the man's straw hat of choice. The Italian Skimmer by Capas is Made in Italy from 4-ply Koberg straw. This is an authentic, high quality Skimmer hat often assiciated with barber shop quartets, jazz bands, and the like. (Also known as a Boater or Sailor).

I wear mine when I need to give my Panamas a rest. Classy & stylish. I never fail to receive complements whenever I put it on. Works equally well with a summer suit or casual wear.
Look, this hat is amazing. Every time I wear it I receive compliments on it. If you're a confident man, who has a sense of style, then this is the perfect hat for you. You can dress the hat up or down depending on how you feel. The best part about the hat is the outstanding quality. The straw is firm and the hat has a nice sturdy weight to it. I have a large head, so I was pleased that it was available in a size 8 however, it does run slightly large. I would buy this hat again.
The hat fit perfectly and looked really good. I wore it to my niece's commencement at Yale University along with saddle shoes, blue blazer, blue shirt with rep bowtie and white linen pants. I got dozens of compliments on my outfit and especially on my straw boater. Everyone wanted to have their picture taken with me at the commencement, School of Nursing commencement and the reception. Good quality.
