Been looking for a Bolero hat for a while that isn't ridiculously expensive but isn't cheap costume trash. Not sure yet if I want a super high-end one as an extension of my personality or if it'll collect dust in my closet. Been told I look like a Spanish conquistador so I'm already taking a gamble on whether or not this will look good on my face. This definitely falls in the 'middle of the road' category; it is well constructed and attractive while not being some bespoke artisanal craft item that I would feel bad not handing down to future generations after making the investment.

Item arrived packed in a wonderfully prepared box that allowed the item to keep its shape easily. I only had to steam out one small crease from the side of the dome.

Do note that measurements are gonna be your friend here. The hat is quite rigid and provides little to no give. I'd size up and pad if you're unsure.

My only issue (though nitpicky, I acknowledge) is that the ribbon is kinda cheap and not attached well. I had already planned on replacing it with something more my style anyway so I won't knock points off for it. If you're not crafty and want an as-is hat, you probably won't be disappointed, but this ribbon won't blow you away with its quality. This is a minor embellishment that likely won't affect 99% of people's opinions of the hat so take my gripe with a grain of salt.

A very high quality hat and a near exact match to the one worn by Lee Van Cleef in For A Few Dollars More. XL is about 7-3/4" and I've manged to stretch mine to 7-5/8" without popping the seam in the leather headband. Loved this hat so much, I bought a 2nd as a backup.

Sized wrong, I didn't like the quality of the hat and thought I would exchange for an upgraded version of the same hat but when I went to return it the return shipping cost of the hat was as much as the purchase of the original hat. That is the first hat I ever bought from the village hat shop that I was not satisfied with all the other hat purchases were great.
