Sufficiently expandable to work for a person with an XL to XXL hat size. It was difficult to find a large enough replacement for a prior hat that I've worn threadbare, and I may order a second just to have an extra on hand. I work outside at high altitude, and I try hard to prevent sun damage on my skin by covering up. Very happy with the purchase.
