Made of 100% natural palm fiber, Tula hats are naturally water resistant in addition to sustainable and environmentally friendly. Their unique overlapping layers of braided and sewn palm fibers give Tula hats the highest solar protection (UPF – Ultraviolet Protection Factor) rating on the market of 50+. Rigorously tested by California Polytechnic State University, Tula was actually commended for their excellent solar protection by the University: “The brim area of these hats is excellent, in fact, we have never tested anything with 0% transmittance. Congratulations on this protection!”

Tula Hats, the fair-trade hat company from Austin, Texas, makes all their hats using 100% natural palm straw grown in Mexico and the same is true for the Pecos Palm Straw Gus Western Hat. The palm straw is hand-woven with double lock stitches. Features a hat band/chin cord and toggle to keep the hat securely in place. SUN HAT

This is a great hat at a great price—perfect for working in the garden or walking on the beach. The GUS style adds a few points, too!

Nice hat for the money.

I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of this hat for the money. I generally wear a 7 3/8 cowboy hat, the L/XL fit perfect. the palm leaf is new to me. I just retired my Resistol Bangor straw purchased in '95. Time will tell how this one holds up, so far so good.

Great hat. Great shade!

Well built, properly sized and a great hat for Summer or sunny Spring days!
