Very firm,not so flimsyas other hats in the straw type.

I'm am very happy with my purchase and that the costumer service is top notch.I would definitely purchase again and again from the Valley Hat Shop for all my future hats.It is well made with quality materials and needs not to much cleaning if it gets dirty or gets wet..It holds it's shape very well in damp foggy conditions in the northern Calif.
