There is something new and exciting under the sun. A handwoven straw hat that loves water. Created by industrial designer Stefan Schinzinger to answer the need for a straw hat that's water friendly.
Made from virtually indestructible, handwoven polypropolyene Techstraw, the Riverz Scout TechStraw Gus Hat has the look of a natural handwoven straw. It's light, breathable and water-resistant. It's crushable, floats and will maintain it's shape and stay light and functional when wet—just shake to dry. Hand wash in soapy water and wear another day.
The Riverz Scout TechStraw Gus Hat features a wide brim that creates a tent of shade, a crown that is ventilated for those 110° days, a super-wicking, hypo-allergenic CoolMax elastic sweatband, a stow away chin cord and a webbing band with a cam lock buckle to adjust size. Riverz hats can easily be worn comfortably all day long in any conditions. They are dream hats for fishing, watersports, hiking, camping and travel.

Darn near perfect hat for the summer. we all love the look Of a straw hat, but if you sweat into while hiking or even just being out and about they can get smelly and there is no way to clean them. This hat has the straw look, breathability all while being cleanable! The hat band is pretty darn cool too.
This is the fourth hat of this style over a period of 25 years. It is a great hat. Keeps the sun off and light rain, too. Last a long time.
I purchased this hat three years ago. I love hats and have a variety hats. This hat however is hands down my favorite. It stand up under any conditions. I can pack it in a suitcase it will pop back into shape. I don't travel anywhere without this hat. This hat looks brand new after three years of rugged wear. Just a great hat!
