There is something new and exciting under the sun. A handwoven straw hat that loves water. Created by industrial designer Stefan Schinzinger to answer the need for a straw hat that's water friendly.

Made from virtually indestructible, handwoven polypropolyene Techstraw, the Riverz Scout TechStraw Gus Hat has the look of a natural handwoven straw. It's light, breathable and water-resistant. It's crushable, floats and will maintain it's shape and stay light and functional when wet—just shake to dry. Hand wash in soapy water and wear another day.

The Riverz Scout TechStraw Gus Hat features a wide brim that creates a tent of shade, a crown that is ventilated for those 110° days, a super-wicking, hypo-allergenic CoolMax elastic sweatband, a stow away chincord and a webbing band with a cam lock buckle to adjust size. Riverz hats can easily be worn comfortably all day long in any conditions. They are dream hats for fishing, watersports, hiking, camping and travel.

Best hat for keeping the sun off.

This is the fourth hat of this style over a period of 25 years. It is a great hat. Keeps the sun off and light rain, too. Last a long time.

Great all purpose hat

I purchased this hat three years ago. I love hats and have a variety hats. This hat however is hands down my favorite. It stand up under any conditions. I can pack it in a suitcase it will pop back into shape. I don't travel anywhere without this hat. This hat looks brand new after three years of rugged wear. Just a great hat!

Great hat, but different

Got this to replace same one bought 7 or 8 years ago. I recently lost it, somebody now has a really nice hat. This new one is about half the weight of the old one, which may not be bad in the heat. Heat’s gone now so haven’t worn it yet; can’t say how it will hold up so rating 4 of 5 stars. Nice product, but expensive. Delivered on time and in good shape.
