great features

The vent flaps on the hat crown are great for opening when your head is hot, but you still want a hat brim to shade your eyes. I sewed some little tabs of velcro on the flaps to close them more snugly. Also the way the back size-adjusting band works is great. It opens easily with one hand when needed and yet closes snugly with one pull for tightening the hat on your head in the wind or when layering the hat over a balaclava.

Better than sunscreen

This does the job. Panels provide cover even in windy conditions. Stiff bill stays in place with good shade. More air circulation than buffs provide. My only complaint is that you can’t remove the flaps without taking apart the back clasp. Small inconvenience.

Great hat

My favorite lightweight hat that I have. Also protects you very well and is cool. I am thinking of getting another as a spare!
