Made from Guatemalan palm leaf, this hat offers great versality - it can even be turned into a tri-corn hat, as used during the American Revolutionary period.

When SunBody finds a hat to be a different size from that shown on the label, SunBody puts a gummed paper sticker over the old size with the correct sizing shown. This is a beautiful, high quality made hat. It fit me nicely. I would recommend this hat for yard/garden work or a day at the beach. Unfortunately, I had to return it as I was wanting a more formal look. I would have kept it and made it work if the brim was more flexible and I was able to shape it to my liking. The brim is very rigid and has no give to it. This is good if you want a wide brim to shade your face.
This is a beautiful hat with a very wide brim, but the sizing is not very forgiving because the hat is very stiff. As recommended, I bought a size 1/4 larger than my actual size (a 6 7/8 rather than 6 1/2). That was their smallest size, but it was too small. Also, the head of the hat is very round--so good for a person with a very round head, my head is an oval.
I spent a lot of time trying to find a quality straw hat that is a big enough size to feel comfortable. (Does one size fits all fit anyone??) Village Hat Shop has a wide range of sizes and mine fits beautifully. The quality of materials and workmanship is excellent. I added a chin strap for security in the wind--easy enough with a long black flat shoelace.
